Living room
Large rugs should allow front furniture legs to sit on the rug. Medium rugs work well under coffee tables in smaller seating areas.
Bedroom
Place a large rug under the bed with enough rug visible on both sides. Runners can work on either side of the bed.
Entryway
Use runners or smaller rugs with enough door clearance.
Dining room
Choose a rug large enough for chairs to remain on the rug when pulled out.
